Here's another shot of the limited edition Pink Kraut we made for @hellmannsuk with their new Chilli Mayonnaise fired by @tabasco_uk Mayo and @eatenaliveldn pink pickles. Is there any situation where you wouldn’t want Tabasco in mayo 🤔 Maybe if you’re with one of those weird people that can’t do spicy but then what are you doing hanging out with them 🤷Who likes the look look of this sandwich?
💙ALCHEMY OF KNITTING 💙
As a child, I taught myself to knit, and through the years it has grown into a cherished sitting practice, a form of meditation.
Folks have exclaimed- it must take so much time!
But what is time?
There is No Time.
Only this moment, this moment.
A series of Nows.
Each one a mantra, infusing the act of creation with intention and spirit.
If the mind wanders off with one of its many stories, I’ve lost the plot.
And so I unravel in order to find my way again. Sometimes back to the very beginning.
And each time I’ve completely unravelled, I’ve emerged grateful for becoming undone.
Folks have also watched me taking apart a nearly completed project, again in disbelief at this expense of time and effort.
If it doesn’t align with my vision, why would I hold onto it? I would take what I had learned and begin anew.
I’m not seeking perfection. Each perceived flaw adds to the beauty of the work.
Yet if in the process I am not content with what has emerged, in that stillness I can find my way back to what the inner eye sees.
Our English word patience comes from the Latin patiens, meaning to suffer. Thus the alchemical process is necessarily a totally transformative one.
This is the alchemy of knitting, and indeed of spirit too.
A base substance, such as wool, is bent and twisted and worked into timeless beauty.
It is transformed.
Moment by moment.
Stitch by stitch. 💙

1.5kg chicken Wings
For the marinade:
1/4 cup light soy sauce
3 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup olive oil (or vegetable oil)
2 tsp onion powder and 2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp sea salt, 1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and Black pepper
1/4 tsp dried basil
Combine all ingredients for the marinade in a large Ziploc bag. Close the bag and shake really well.
Add the chicken wings, close the bag and massage the wings really well and expel as much air as possible, close the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Preheat the oven grill to about 200°C.
Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and place in a grilling pan with open spaces in between.
Cook the chicken wings in the preheated grill, for about 10-15 minutes on each side, until the meat is nicely browned and the juices from the chicken run clear.
