Beauty can always be found just beneath the surface. #whatliesbeneath
Transforming photos from their original state to something that feels like a piece of art, that is the driving force behind Austin based photographer, Sophia Raquel Portraits. She aims to keep creating no matter which side of the camera she's on.
Here's a little bit behind her inspiration and what keeps her snapping away:
"A turning point in my portraiture photography was when I first came across Abstract; The Art of Design on Netflix. I am deeply inspired by Platon Yurich and his phenomenal communication though the subjects eyes in his photography."
"This documentary series is something that inspired me to not be afraid to get up close to my subjects and really tell a story through their facial expressions and eyes."

Our What Lies Beneath series has so far left us in awe. First a message on shame, and then yesterday a message on being rejected then accepted.
We can’t wait to hear what next week’s topic is and how to God will use it to reveal things in our life!
We’ll make sure to let you know when the recording is online because we KNOW you’ll want to listen!
The sun made a brief appearance in my kitchen this afternoon while I was making tea ... I looked out of the window ready to feast my eye on just what a difference a good soaking rain makes to a thirsty Spring time garden... but this over ‘loved’ marble catches my eye instead... the surface is not what one would expect... the smooth has been replaced by the rough.... to the point that you can no longer really even see the beauty.... I can’t help myself as I pick it up and feel the cold rough weight of it in my hand ... I am reminded of the fact that people and life and beat up old marbles have something in common .... there is surly something beautiful inside every single person the the good Lord has made ( and He sure made them all! ) sometimes we just need to look a little harder to find that beautiful .... life can leave a nasty mark but there is always always beauty to be found, even if it’s buried.... so as a new week begins I want to encourage you to take another lingering look .... #whatliesbeneath#bringbeautyintothelight#wordsbeautifulwords#words
