I’ve had a hard time coming up with cute captions or things to say here because honestly, the past few days I’ve felt speechless. Sometimes, you just have to turn it off and be present; stand in awe without a thought other than gratitude. That’s been this entire trip to BC for us. I can’t thank all the grandparents enough for banning together and watching over our minis and my mom who did the school drop offs, the musical beds, extracurricular activities and homework. Tonya and Kevin Williams, this trip wouldn’t have even been possible without your fight and passion for what we do. @adamcrinks and Ali, thank you for showing us around Seattle and giving us a place to stay. We are so thankful for all of you!
If we weren’t trekking through the rainforest admiring 800 year old trees, we were climbing onto the cliff sides near the ocean at sunset on my birthday and and our 8 year anniversary. We’ve enjoyed incredible local food, stayed at the best air BNB’s, watched the local surf culture in Tofino and fallen in love with this beautiful country. This trip made us fall deeper in love with our Creator and each other. We’ve also learned a few things about each other. I like to walk about 10 paces ahead since I speedwalk everywhere we go; Brad has had to keep me from running into people and stepping on snakes because I’m to busy in la la land; and anytime we are at a crossroad with a decision on a trip, my response will always be, “We will figure it out.” Traveling and adventure is in my bloodstream. It doesn’t go away when you become a parent folks. Yes, you do have to make sacrifices but you don’t ever have to stop dreaming. Don’t let anyone ever tell you something is impossible. The unimaginable can become reality and that’s why I believe Jesus tells us that with Him ALL things are possible. I would have never imagined being here 10 years ago and it just shows you where patience and trust can take you.
Now, I’m ready to get back to my babes and squeeze them tight.
Love this shot of last nights golden hour at Cox, when the background, lighthouse and all, is equally as beautiful as the foreground.
Managed to capture my roomie @henriquedomenech in the act on this gem too.
Wolf in the Fog is probably one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been too....locally sourced ingredients, unique flavors and whimsical presentations. I’m not so much a cocktail connoisseur (give me a nice wheaty beer and I’m happy) but the #CedarSour is out of this world. It tastes and smells like a forest....yes, wood and that is because the rye has been infused with cedar wood for days. But it works. we loved #wolfinthefog so much the first night that we went back the next night. We had baked Tofino halibut, poached cod, potato crusted oysters, cheese pierogis, house made pasta that is daily inspired, gnocchi and 7 mushroom vegetarian inspired dish, two desserts and oh my was it all tasty #tofino#tofinotravel#tofinoeats#britishcolumbia#vancouverisland#tourismtofino
Sea otters are a fan favourite on our wildlife viewing excursions. Did you know that these clever creatures are the largest member of the weasel family and that they can live their entire lives without leaving the water? When they snooze they often wrap themselves in seaweed and float together holding paws so they don’t drift apart, hence a group of resting otters is called a raft. 📷@frozenfingersphoto
