Parsi food has been close to my heart since I literally grew up on it. That coconut curry, white sauce, kheema and palao that used to be served for lunch back in school .. aaha 😍 #jbvachha !
Tried their salli chicken and chicken berry pulao washed down with raspberry soda and lagan nu custard for my sweet tooth!
Place had a Nice vibe and cool decor but food was okayish. I guess I went in with very high expectations (misleading zomato reviews!) and those school lunch flavors in mind.
Any suggestions for finding good irani places serving authentic parsi food in Mumbai? ( #britannia is already on the list!)

A Parsi Speciality called Salli Chicken at Piccadilly on Colaba Causeway. .
Taste: 3/10 It was too sweet and tangy. Not like the Chicken Salli you'll get at other Parsi joints like the Ideal Corner at Fort or the Kayani & Co. My guess is that they used Tomato sauce instead of Tomato puree. I literally skipped the sauce for dipping my fries. I used this curry instead. .
Service: woh kya hota hai. The waiter was like a walking zombie 😂 he not only forgot to get our order of hot chocolate but also had it punched on the invoice. Imagine being asked to pay for the order which was not fulfilled because he "simply forgot" (that's what he told us when asked about the hot chocolate). Terrible service. .
What's great: Khajoor-ni-ghari is the best. It's a pastry stuffed with a sweet date and jaggery filling. So buttery and so delicious!

Look no more. @sbowindia is a gorgeous restaurant with a beautiful Iranian feel.
Soda Bottle Openerwala is a place buzzing with happy patrons, being entertained with some good music.
It was difficult to chose from their menu that had tooo many options! We are sure we have to head back soon to try the dishes we couldn't try this time.
For starters we had
1. the Bombil Fry - a Bombay speciality fish mildly spiced with a crunchy crust. It was crispy and the fish was so fresh too.
2. the Mutton Potato Chops - Mashed Potato Pancakes stuffed with minced meat, rolled into a ball coated with egg and breadcrumbs and fried to a golden perfection. This was the Best mutton chops we've ever had and also their Best dish amongst the ones we tried! They are sooo fluffy and cottony and feels like a cloud in your mouth😍 Mandatory try!
3. the Fish Cutlet - delicious fish patty. All the starters are served with yum tomato sauce and green chutney.
For Main course we tried -
1. Salli Chicken - Parsi style chicken curry topped with potato salli, served with pav/wheat bran pav/gluten free toast.
2. Bohri Kheema Pav - Light on spices, deliciously meaty and served with pav. Ofcourse how could we not try Kheema pav at an Iranian themed restaurant! .
They have a crazyy array of desserts too but we were too full to try! Bun Maska/Jam, Mawa Cake, Ginger Biscuit, Nankhatai, Parsi Dairy Kulfi, Coconut Raisin Cake, Semolina Cake, Lagan Nu Custard, Matunga Special Coffee Cake, Gadbad, and trust us there are 10 other things and the list could go on and on...😅 . .

Salli chicken and chapatti at this legendary Irani restaurant in fort. The restaurant has its old world charm and lives up the expectation. The food is yummy. The chicken was tender, the gravy spicy and the chapattis were super thin. But the entire menu seems overpriced. It's worth the experience but a meal for two can burn a hole in your pocket.

Yesterday, I got the honour to host a cooking class for none other than #vikramvij of the esteemed @eatdrinkvijs who is here from Canada touring India and exploring its food history with a group of his friends. When I first heard I would be teaching him a bit about Parsi food I was incredibly nervous - after all, aside from my kitchen I've never actually worked in a professional kitchen. But, Chef Vikram is such an amazing and humble person that I had the time of my life teaching them how to rustle up Sali Chicken and Kebabs and feeding them some lunch afterwards. .
The cherry on the cake was having the Salli Tuna that #vikramvij cooked alongside me - #yummyinmytummy !!
