Part of the impressionist and modern art movement hosted by Christie's, #henrymoore has a series of 'Reclining figures.
What inspired Henry Moore to make figures such as these?
Henry found inspiration from the following:
1) Bones,Skull, Rock, Stones Shells, and even wood.
All of these objects have a natural shape to them and he uses that to his advantage.
2)Landscapes of places. Therefore most of his sculpters are made for landscape settings.
3)Sculpters from other cultures and countries. Moore moved to locations outside of the U.S to study the history that were unfamiliar to him.
4)Exploring the ins and the outs of shapes. Henry did more than just sculpt and outside of a piece, but also took the time to study what an inside of a figure should look like.
These are the few of many inspirations that Henry gathered.
