Went the extra mile with my intercessor Sergeant. Absolutely going to solely focus on doing a Primaris Deathwatch Army, because they are insanely powerful when their kill teams are organized as mixed units and with the deathwatch ‘Special Ammunition’ rules! Also going to continue doing 100% freehand work, as this is the best way to consistently improve my painting skills 😊
So here goes! Still not dared to set all these pieces with glue, but I'm almost ready to. Would love some feedback! This is pretty much what I've spent the most time on Templarwise. Intercessor Sergeant with the Combat specialty for my Kill Team. Might have used the Intercessor Sergeant for the leader, but I felt like my full Sword Brother should look more like a steady swordsman and less like someone focused on battlefield control. My idea for my Kill Team is to have the leftovers of a garrison left behind by the main force. This guy is supposed to be the quintessential Sword Brother. Determined, honorable and confident in his convictions. #killteam #warhammer #wh40k #swordbrother #blacktemplars #spacemarines #wargaming #miniatures #paintingwarhammer #mini #primaris #conversion #kitbash
It was going well... until turn 2.
For this one I didn’t take pics during or after the game as my phone was dead. I’m using my minis in place of my friend’s to re-enact the core moments of the game. Please replace all poxwalkers in these pics with Khorne Bloodletters in your minds eye, thanks!
Turn 2 brought about the summoning as a massive group of Bloodletters emerged from the warp. The Blood Ravens burnt 2 command points for an Auspex Scan allowing them to immediately open fire on them. The surprised marines were only able to down a handful as they awkwardly turned to shoot. The marksmanship of the marines was tested shortly after as the Chaos Terminators charged; the scant few hits pitifully plinking off their armor as their massive frames lumbered towards them. The very earth rumbled violently as their terrifying bellows of battle were almost deafening as they neared, power mauls and axes gripped and held high before bashing and tearing their way through the feeble squad of marines. As the last battle brother crumpled to the ground, his corpse was crushed by the bulky boot of a victorious Chaos Terminator; the wet crackling of bone and gore punctuating his hysterical laughter.
The Bloodletters had made their charge against the the Dreadnaught, which was already engaged in furious combat with a couple Berserkers, allowing them to surround and wreak havoc on the weakened war machine. A handful of the pack were more keen with their blades, critically striking right through the thick armor of the Dreadnaught, with a few presumably slicing right through the coffin within.
As the giant war machine slumped in defeat, the Bloodletter howled in triumph before an unsettling whir of gears and violent clangs was emitted from the downed Dreadnaught until it, and everything near it, was engulfed in flames as it explodes.
After the dust had settled, the handful of Bloodletters that survived the explosion were picked off by a few shots from my Terminators.

Finished off the face for now, it’ll look better when everything else is done (I hope). @boldminiatures begins the Kickstarter for this very very soon!!
