Out And About Enjoying The Long Weekend...
#roadtrip : one of my favorite parks in California is the central plaza in Paso Robles. It's not just that my mom played here as a child 80 years ago, but that it's full of massive Valley oak trees, Quercus lobata, my favorite tree.
This 110-year-old Carnegie library was almost torn down after a huge earthquake in Paso Robles about 15 years ago. They built a big new City Library across the street, and turned this into a historical society after considerable repair. I donated to the cause. My mother learned to read in this building.
