Halloween Countdown Day 21! You’d think I’d be exhausted, but no. Tonight, at the recommendation of @shudder yesterday, I will watch The House of the Devil. I’ve never seen it, heard mixed reviews, but I guess it’s time to see for myself. Let’s do it. #horror#movies#halloween#october#scary#devil
#IMAGINETHISWIFF18 OFFICIAL SELECTION: MY MECHANICAL FRIEND directed by Hollie Seidel - Ophelia is happy on her own, but the people around her don’t believe that a woman can ever be truly content by herself.
Hollie Seidel is a NY based film maker, director and actor. She started her career on stage as a modern dancer and musical theater performer. She has acted in many screen and stage productions including Cabaret, Me and My Girl, Ugly Betty, and I Am Legend, as well as performing improv in venues across NYC. This year she stepped behind the camera to direct #MyMechanicalFriend.
Mean Girls (Broadway) - In case you haven’t heard, this year a Mean Girls musical came to Broadway. The play was modernized but pretty much the same as the movie apart from a couple line and scene changes necessary so that the play would flow smoother. I absolutely love the cast; they perfectly portray the characters in their modernized state. Their voices blend and compliment each other so well. I love the new adaptation of these iconic characters. Because the play is longer, we get more development and backstory for them. The play was hysterical, fun, and had me smiling the whole way through. There was always something going on, so not a second was boring. Everything was visually amazing too; the choreography, the sets, the changing back walls, the use of props, the lighting. The soundtrack is fantastic and accompanies the production very well. I really wish that the musical version was also a movie so I could see those little gems not on the soundtrack. I’d love to go back and see it again sometime, and I very very highly recommend seeing it if you’re able to. And if you aren’t able to, find a way.
