The sad reality of being a sun baby is that you’re more likely than not going to get some sunburn. Even with my naturally olive skin I still get burnt every summer!
While all I can tell you is to slip, slop, slap to avoid the dreaded burn, if you do get hit, here are my top tips to help reduce it quickly and prevent peeling:
1️⃣ cool it down ASAP with a cold shower
2️⃣ apply Aloe Vera (antibacterial and accelerates healing of burns)
3️⃣ hydrate (water for the inside, moisturizer for the outside). This will keep the skin from drying out and eventually peeling
You can easily go and buy a ‘after sun’ lotion which should contain both aloe and moisturizing properties, but if you’re like me and already have both products separately, my trick is to just mix aloe vera gel and a body moisturizer up on a 1:1 ratio and apply it all over my skin after a shower!
Hopefully this helps your burn heal faster and also maintain your sun kissed tan as long as possible once it heals. B x
