#SWIPE 🙌🏾 The #ZootSuit was a staple in the wardrobe of black entertainers like #DizzyGillespie,#LouisArmstrong and #CabCalloway in the 1930s and 1940s. Some contend that the word "zoot" has no meaning whatsoever, and is only part of the "rhyming jive" speech common amongst black folks at that time. However, #jazz musician Cab Calloway wrote a jive dictionary in which he described the word as meaning "exaggerated." SWIPE LEFT to check out some of the best images of the "zoot suit". .
