Sometimes I wonder if I boxed myself in as this cooking personality, social media person and I’ll never get respect for my business and corporate attributes and how hard I’ve worked as a business-woman and entrepreneur. Tonight was one of those nights that reminded me again that nothing will speak for you more than HONEST HARD WORK.
Momma Cuisine wasn’t and isn’t just a hobby. It was my life’s work. I sacrificed so much and worked so hard to built it not just to sell blog posts and Instagram posts — but a real B2B business where food brands had a media outlet to reach consumers, have a real marketing partner who will collaborate to not just share their products but actually work side-by-side to build, launch and execute marketing campaigns. Many times brands have taken my ideas and used it in nationwide promos and not once do I get any recognition and it’s ok. I work to contribute to make a difference. Not for praise and likes and awards.
This evening the Philippine Consulate of Chicago and Philippine Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago invited me to speak on a panel with highly respected, extremely educated women to share my professional thoughts and experiences on leadership, corporate culture (my favorite topic - I know I’m a nerd), business and entrepreneurship. It was a huge honor. I don’t live for recognition but there are times in your career that when it does happen, it lets you know that you’ve done good and to keep going. 🙌🏽 So, KEEP GOING, MOMMAS!
