Show up. Be yourselves. Have fun. Enjoy each other. It may feel like family photos are about outfits, hair, makeup, location, setup, props, etc. That pressure ain't worth it. In a few years, trendy spots and props and clothes will change. And so will the ways your kids look at you and laugh with each other, and what I see are not your perfect outfits or smiles. I see you.
If they're cranky that day or jump in the mud right before I arrive, I strongly suspect we can create moments of clarity where all that matters about right now will make you both laugh and cry upon seeing your gallery.
I want to give you a glimpse of the way you and your people are uniquely beautiful- here and now. I want to preserve a few moments in your story- today. In 10, 20, 50 years you being you in front of the camera will be more than enough. And one way or another we'll get that Christmas card photo. So show up. Be yourselves. Have fun. Enjoy each other.
