Yup. You heard me. Stop blaming this THING that you have 100% control over for everything that you feel.
I have had so many people either say they deleted their Facebook, they deleted their instagram, no longer on snapchat... Why? Because they feel like it's taking over their life.
I have some... Terribly real news for you. It's not social media that took over your life. You Let It.
Social media is not alive. You are. You have 100% control over how you use it, what you want to see, what you don't want to see, what you hear, what you don't want to hear, how you use it, how not to use it and how much or little you use it. "I deleted my Facebook because it's just full of things that discourage me from my own health goals"
Then stop filling your social media feed with those things. "I get discouraged when I look at other people doing good"
Then stop looking at other people and refocus on what you need to do for your own goals. "it's just full of junk anyway I don't need it. People should stop filling their heads with this junk"
Then don't use it. But dont judge others for wanting to use it because what they find valuable may not align with yours and vice versa. "everyone seems to be doing so good and I just suck at what I'm doing compared to them"
Stop focusing on other people. Refocus on you. If your feed isn't helping you but you still want to be present? Start cleaning it up to fill it with things that INSPIRE you instead.
Everyone uses social media for their own reason. We don't know what that reason is unless we ask them and we have no right to say that our voice on social media is the ultimate priority. It is not. If it feeds you great! Use it. If it doesn't? Let it go.
If you still want to use it but it isn't currently working? Clean up your feed.
Social media is not alive. You are. Stop blaming it for your insecurities and refocus on building you. (mic drop)
