@smiths_chips_aus new "Taste of Summer" range has hit supermarket shelves in two (😑) flavours- Tomato Salsa & French Onion Dip.
So straight off the bat when I saw the flavours I immediately thought to myself 🤔💭 really? That's the best they could do?! _
Tomato Salsa to me feels completely overdone and way too simple for it to be anything then average hence why you see French Onion here. Now fortunately Smith's nail this flavour pretty accurately but really at the end of it all it's their regular Cheese & Onion flavour with a bigger hit of onion. It's a good chip but for a LE flavour it's average at best- 7.5/10.
Craving the Duck Benedict from Addict 🍴. Not sure what it was, but possibly the fact that its made with red braised duck leg instead of Pork, and has this enticing chilli hollandaise. The Addict menu is one to behold.
The final course of an excellent meal @peterstreetkitchen yesterday evening. More pics to follow over the next few days but this was the Kuro goma cheesecake served with hassuka orange sorbet.
The nutty flavour of the sesame combined with the creamyness of the cheesecake was delicious and the sorbet added a nice zing. A must try if you visit in my opinion.
Just to add as well, some of the best service we've had at a restaurant. Moustapha (I really hope that's the correct spelling!) was a true gent and his recommendations on both food and drink were spot on 👍🏻
If you saw my story tonight you will have seen that Sadie managed to smash the 15 eggs we had been collecting to put in the incubator 🙄 So it's back to square one keeping the pretty speckled eggs to hatch and in the meantime I'll just be over here wishing I was eating a piece or two of this no bake peanut butter cheesecake which conveniently has no eggs in it 😏
1 x packet Oreos 140g
50 g butter melted
1 x 250g packet cream cheese (room temperature)
3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/4 cup cream
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Peanut butter cups
Line a 20cm (8”) square baking tin with baking paper or tinfoil making sure it goes up the sides with some overhang.
In a food processor crush the Oreos until they are fine crumbs. Add the melted butter and stir well to combine.
Press firmly into the prepared tin. Put in the fridge to set while you make the filling.
Add the cream cheese & peanut butter to the bowl of a stand mixer and mix on high speed using the paddle attachment until smooth and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Add the sugar, cream and vanilla and mix on medium speed for a further 3 or 4 minutes until combined and smooth.
Spread the filling onto the base and smooth using a spatula. Sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups and put in the fridge to set for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Using the baking paper or tinfoil, lift the cheesecake out of the tin to cut. Use a sharp knife to cut into pieces. To ensure clean cuts I like to wipe the knife with a paper towel between cuts.
Serve from the fridge with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and more peanut butter cups.
Keep in the fridge for 3 or 4 days...if you don't eat it all!
Anyone up for some super delicious dahi ke kebab?? 😋😍 ________________________________________________________

Lately I have been super irritated with myself . I have been not been liking the kind of food I usually make and out of those, some days I end up ordering food and making some poor choices.
Today I came home in a really good mood. I thank the great workout from today and so I decided to blast music and cook dinner and breakfast.
I made this very simple prawns curry. I was craving a curry that I had while I was at cochin and I am so damn impressed with myself. I rarely love my own food but this one knocked my socks off. Very few ingredients but the slow cooking helped. Teamed it with some puttu for that south Indian feast. I was feeling guilty about missing veggies and cut some carrots and cucumbers to make it a whole meal.
I just wish I could make such amazing food everyday. .
Mondays have me reminiscing about guac and Margaritas from the weekend. Margaritas are not my cocktail of choice but Aqui had the tastiest (and most potent) ones I've had in a while. With a side of guac, this was the perfect Saturday afternoon noms with friends.
I had forgotten that I am currently in Neapolitan style pizza region of Italy. Had dinner at Pizzeria Criscemunno where all the pies were less than €7.50. The Napoletano was delicious & apparently this is a good price point.
