Unfortunately I disappeared for a while from here and I feel awful about it. Sometime last week I kind of hit rock bottom bookstagram-wise when I noticed that if I don't post every single day, my posts get half of the usual attention. Or when I don't post between 6 and 8 pm. As I don't have enough free time to post that often or post only at certain times, I felt like it was all pointless. Anyway, I'm back and trying to get over these negative feelings.
As some of you may know from my stories, we left for Paris a few days ago. It is absolutely awesome to be here, but if I want to be honest, it's very overwhelming, too! Paris is huge and the crowds of people filling the streets and squishing against us in the metro are a bit anxiety inducing. I love visiting here but I'm pretty sure I could never live here.
Since Sunday we have seen the Notre Dame, spent an afternoon in the Tuileries, walked down Champs-Élysées, checked out some bookstores and vinyl shops, had awesome vegan food, sat in a café, climbed up the Tour Eiffel, visited a very old cemetery and explored Montmartre. It was all wonderful and I'm so happy that I was finally able to see all these places with my own eyes. We still have two full days so some more adventures are coming up!
Being in Paris, I had to do the obligatory visit to Shakespeare and Company which is an absolutely amazing bookstore, but it's overflowing with tourists at all times. It is also extremely expensive, so I only bought one book in a different shop.
I'll try and check in more often in the last few days of the trip and I generally plan on being more active here.
Tell me what you have been up to! Or if you've been to Paris, I'd love to hear your impressions about the city. Or maybe you experienced some of the dark side of bookstagram that I mentioned in my post? Let's talk about any of it, I've been missing bookstagram interactions a lot, so I'd love to chat in the comments 💜
