I finally started on this yesterday! It is not at all what I was expecting. This may sound dumb, but I like to go into books knowing as little as possible at times. I just like to be surprised. I had read the back cover and inside jacket flaps, and I had a good general idea of what to expect, but it was still so much worse than what I was thinking it would be. Sixteen chapters in, Hunger is a dark, heartbreaking read, but extremely fitting for everything that’s been going on in the news lately with the Ford v. Kavanaugh trial. I was triggered in every way a person can be. I am glad Roxane shared her story with the world. It is necessary and past time that every person who has been violated and abused be given justice and release from the captivity and trauma sexual violence causes. It has never, is not, and never will be ok. Ever.
