Welcome to ✨my childhood bookcase✨ I’m home in New Jersey for a few days visiting my parents, and in their spare bedroom is my bookcase that I’ve been using since before I can remember. The kicker though is that this isn’t all of my books 😬 a number of my uncles are very annoyed with me and the number of boxes that were labeled “Kayla’s Books” when my parents were moving lol. —-
“Where the Wild Things Are” is one of my favorite books as a kid, and it’s one of my favorite books to gift to people now! For some reason it’s right by “House of Leaves” which is a book I don’t think I’ll ever finish. Sorry 🤗
Some of my prized (shared) possessions are my sister and I’s hardcover Harry Potter books. I have a set I keep with me as I have moved, but there first three (don’t know where Chamber of Secrets is?) stay with my parents so they don’t get messed up. When I finally don’t have student loans to pay off, I want to buy a whole set of the first edition. That’s the dream! —-
Because it’s spooky and because it’s one of my favorite movies, my sister gifted me this great illustrated version of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Question: do you consider it a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? You decide. Also- peep my parents giant spider plant! I want to bring some of it back with me to Brooklyn 🌱
Would you ever clean out your childhood bookcase? When was the last time you took a look at it?
