See previous post for how this look was achieved.
Swipe to see the results once the hair had dried (air dried).
Products used @intrinsicurlyme full range:
-Intrinsicurly Me Luxurious Creamy Cleanser
-Intrinsicurly Me Luxurious Creamy Conditioner
-Intrinsicurly Me Curl Creme and another Intrinsicurly Me Curl Creme in development.
It was quite humid in otherwise dry Joburg but the hair held up well.
Curls remained defined even once dry.
Only other thing for me personally was shine... There was not alot of shine, and that's okay as this can be added with a high shine serum or a little oil plus l was quite heavy handed with the cream, will use less next time. (it is currently day 3 and l just refreshed the curls with water as l had used quite a bit of the curl cream initially, l will post a pic later today)
Be prepared ,the opportunity will show up soon. Don't stop grinding, it will pay off .
Don't forget the place of work, atferall, Faith without work is dead. God's Grace is readily available, don't let it be a waste.
See you at the top, I believe in Grace so I will put my foot forward, I'm empowered to do great things, His grace is my enabler .
Good morning friends, have a great week ahead 💕💕 #mondaymotivation#Monday#goal#caremorenaturals#naturalhairproducts#naturalhaircare
Once you are done cleansing and conditioning and treating your hair what next? (see my previous posts on cleansing)
I would then smooth in a leavein a conditoner followed by whatever Styler depending on the style l am doing or the effect l want. However some brands have a single product or cream or styler that is capable of working as a leavin and Styler all in one or the first layer of protection for your hair strands.
This local South African brand @intrinsicurlyme has a Styler that works as a leavein and cream all in one.
I received their current Styler as well as one that is in development stage to try.
Was this enough for my hair?
My full verdict is still out (l will give this later this week). For now and my first impressions:
Smells divine, a little goes a long way and l was quite heavy handed (used alot of product) in this instance. Has a foam effect which would work great for flexi rods sets and even small twist outs. The weekend was quite humid and l would like to see how it behaves on a hot summer day however it did smooth into the hair well and did keep frizz at bay (not totally as l do like frizz and picked at a little at my roots in the back before the hair set).
It does leave a cast on the hair once dry but this breaks up nicely and leave the hair soft and Curls still defined.
I will try it again when l feel l need to and will advise further.
What do you do? Do you recognise the importance of TECHNIQUE in addition to product?
Weekend 'wash day' shenanigans... I like to start with a clean slate aka very clean hair before l try any new products (so that l can see the actual performance of the new products on my hair).
I started my cleansing by using the @motionssa@motionshair Moisturising Cleanser which has sulfates but does not leave the hair feeling stripped or hard. (not available in SA)
I then followed with the @intrinsicurlyme Luxurious Creamy Cleanser. First impressions:
Has very little to NO foam. Is of medium consistency (not too thick and not to thin/runny and spreads across the scalp and hair easily). Smells divine. It does clean the hair and leaves the hair feeling soft and if you like that tingly fresh feeling on your scalp then the peppermint oil contained in this Cleanser will definitely leave your scalp feeling that way😉
I then followed this with the Intrinsicurly Luxurious Creamy Conditoner. First impressions:
Thick and creamy and allows for easy detangling (needs an easier container but they are aware of this). Smells divine like a yummy dessert. Contains Hydrolysed Keratin as one of the ingredients and leaves the hair with a nice balance of moisture and strength. (not overly soft)
I did also leave the conditoner on my hair under a heat conditioning cap for about an hour which worked as a treatment and l did notice less breakage.
Overall the hair enjoyed its Cleanse and Condition. And l thought l would use the full contents of the small 100ml bottles in a single wash BUT was nicely surprised that there is still about 2 thirds left... A little does indeed go a long way😊
See my next posts for the rest of the process.
