You forced a piece of pizza into your system, not wanting to make your dad suspicious if anything wrong, but honestly, you just wanted to throw up.
After a long shower, you pulled on pajamas and cozied up in bed.
Hey, you texted Peter, How's Ned doing?
Peter replied almost instantly, Surgery finished maybe 15 minutes ago, he's recovering, but I'm not allowed to see him yet. His mom's here with him.
Okay, you breathed. He had made it through the operation, step one complete.
Get some sleep, okay? Peter said.
You smiled, Only if you promise me you'll do the same
Deal. Goodnight Y/n
You plugged your phone into it's charger and tried to sleep, but every time you closed your eyes, all you could see was a replay of Ned being shot.
Tears unconsciously sneaked down the side of your face onto the pillow.
This was going to be a long night.
You rolled out if bed the next day with maybe an hour of sleep under your belt. Well, technically, you weren't wearing a belt with your jeans, but whatever.
After throwing on some makeup and pulling your hair into a pony tail you began fixing coffee in the kitchen.
" Hey Honey," your dad said, "I saw something on the news this morning."
You looked at him, "What?"
"Some kid in your school, Ned Leeds, was shot last night. Do you know him."
Your eyes pricked with tears, but you shrugged, "Not that I know of. Coffee?"
He nodded and pushed a price of bread into the toaster.
"Did they don't out who shot him?" You asked as you poured two cups if coffee, hoping for some new information.
"No." You and your dad sipped your coffee silently, until the doorbell rung.
Slowly, you got to the door and were greeted by a tired, but happy looking Peter.
"Y/n!" He said breathlessly, "I ran the whole way here! Get your shoes on, Ned's awake!"
