“Burning Bush” “Moses! Moses!” God called.....
When I snapped this photo, I couldn’t help but think about when God spoke to Moses out of the burning bush.
For a few minutes, I silently wished God would speak to me, but, alas, only silence pricked my ears. As I watched the beautiful end to another glorious day in God’s creation, I reflected upon the burning bush story presented in Exodus Chapter 3.
There are many things that can be gleaned from the story including God’s name: “I AM WHO I AM” (Yahweh). He is without beginning or end. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. He transcends time, He is present, and He has always existed. In the form of fire, we learn that He is holy, majestic, awesome in glory, pure, and separated from His creation. At the same time, He is like a refining fire, but has no intent to harm as the passage of scripture describes the bush aflame but not destroyed or consumed. That is my favorite part and paints a wonderful picture. To me, it symbolizes God’s love for His people. It is a love that refines us, teaches us, and provides a guiding light with protection and direction through the wilderness and beyond.
Get out there and see God’s hand in everything!
