"Post mortem nihil"
The last great European emperor, Federico II, said these words on his deathbed: his last and victorious challenge to the power of the vile Popes.
Half German and half Sicilian (from the Norman dinasty), during his reign he proved himself as a beacon for humanity, an example of how cultural pluralism, comprehension and foresight could lead the human kind through the future far more than any other violent mean.
His reign was huge: the lands of the german HRE to the north, south Italy where the normans reigned and the rebellious northern Italy, where municipal powers claimed indipendence. Different cultures, including the Arabs in Sicily where kept togheter thanks to the freedom of belief granted by him, the promulgation and support granted to the universities and the power of diplomacy instead of the weaknesses of war. Immortal will be his great success during the holy crusade that was forced to led by the envious Pope: excommunicated by the ruler of Patrimonium Sancti Petri (the papal state) he was forced to led a crusade to repent for his sins against the "infidels" that were controlling Al-Qûds (Jerusalem). Disembarked on the shores of the holy lands he went straight to the doors of Jerusalem without a bloodshed and he just spoked to the ruler of those lands, granting the permissions to access the holy places of Christianity for pilgrims from the west. Without any war, just with diplomacy, speaking with another ruler as a human to another human.
He collected a total number of 6 excommunications because of his kind laws, rule and actions, reducing the power and dignity of the corrupted Papal State and reducing its powers.
On his deathbed he smiled and proclaimed in latin, the language used in the sacred texts: "Post mortem nihil!" After the death there's nothing, challenging once again the Pope and his grasp on the scared minds of whom that fears death; declaring the importance of caring about the lives you're called to guide and govern, very life of another human being.
Centuries after his death we lack a great leader like him.
Video link in bio. A #Zimbabwenewsupdate. The president has been talking about the price increases in retailers and he will be cracking down on retailers who have been taking advantage of the current situation and increasing their prices.
#PastorEvanMawarire recently Tweeted about a conversation he had with the mayor of #Harare. The mayor stated there is not enough money to supply clean water to the capital because football and netball teams are using up the majority of revenue being generated from rates payers.
Also a bit on government facilities which need to be maintained and improved.
