From Mars (Friday's post) to Lewis and Clark. Confused? This spot, Rowena Crest, is located along the Columbia River Gorge. The very same river that those bffls explored in 1805. Oh and guess who else was with them on their trip along the Columbia? Sacagawea. Yep, the one and only. Granted this spot was not a place they stopped during their expedition, but it is kind of cool to think about the fact that I drove along the same route they explored over 200 years ago. One of the best parts about the Columbia River Gorge? The MULTITUDE of spots to explore on both the Oregon and Washington side (the river is the dividing line between the states). So trust me, while I'm in the PNW there will be much more to come from the River of the West. If you had the chance to visit the Columbia River Gorge which side would you take? Oregon, or Washington, or both?
